My recording didn’t transcribe

Transcription needs a connection. If you were offline, the entry is saved and will transcribe automatically next time the app has internet. Your audio is never lost.

How do I cancel or change my plan on Android?

In the app, open Settings → Manage subscription, or go to Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling keeps your plan until the end of the period you already paid for.

Can I use Journal Pro on my other devices?

Yes, when you’re signed in. A subscription bought or restored while signed in is linked to your account: sign in with the same account on your other phone or tablet — Android, iPhone or iPad — and Pro is there too, without buying again. Subscribed before signing in? Sign in on the phone you subscribed on and open the app once. Signing out takes Pro off a device, unless that device’s own Google Play or Apple account pays for it. Manage or cancel the subscription in the store you bought it in.

How do I lock the app?

Settings → App Lock. Set a PIN, and optionally enable face unlock / fingerprint. The journal locks when you leave the app (after a short grace period).

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes your account and everything synced to it (on iPhone and iPad it also revokes Sign in with Apple). See our account deletion page for details, or to request it by email.

Restore purchases

Open Settings → Subscription to see the plans, then tap Restore at the top. Use the same Apple Account you subscribed with. If you subscribed on another device while signed in, just sign in here with the same account.

Manage or cancel your subscription

Subscriptions bought on iPhone or iPad are managed by Apple: open the Settings app → your name → Subscriptions, or go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period (or trial) to avoid the next charge. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.

Ask for a refund

App Store refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Using Voice Journal on Apple Watch

Open Voice Journal on your watch and tap the orb to start recording; tap it again to stop. The recording is sent to your paired iPhone and becomes a journal entry there.

Adding the widget

Touch and hold your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit (or the + button), and add the “Voice Journal” widget. It shows your streak and this week’s pattern; tapping it opens the recorder.

AI transcription permission

The first time you record, Voice Journal asks whether to transcribe with AI. You can change this anytime in Settings → Privacy → AI transcription. When it is off, your entries stay on your device and you can write them by hand. See the Privacy Policy for what is sent and to whom.
